Chamaecereus silvestrii (now officially Echinopsis chamaecereus), commonly known as the Peanut Cactus, is a popular, low-growing succulent known for its finger-like stems and vibrant orange-red blooms. Native to Argentina, it is an easy-to-grow cactus that produces stunning flowers in the growing season and is perfect for beginners.
This is one of the easiest cacti to propagate. Simply break off a "peanut" (stem segment), let the cut end dry and form a callus for 2–3 days, then place it on top of dry cactus soil until roots form.
